In early November 2020 we camped at Kern River Campground, a nice county park just east of Bakersfield, CA.
The campground has 50 campsites. They are all pull-through sites, with lots of space between sites.
We had one of the best sites, next to the river, because I always do my research and reserve early!   ;-)
This is the view out our windshield. The adjacent campsite was closed for COVID social distancing.
There was a nice hedge between our site and the campground road, so we didn't see the campsite across from us.
Cooper and Barley enjoyed watching the little birds in the hedge. So close, and yet so far!
You can also see in this photo our refreshed valances. The original version was a solid taupe, like the rest of the upholstery, with a brown piece of trim in the center. We had just finished (before this trip) the valance makeover, where we covered the center trim piece in fabric and Ann stamped on the solid taupe covering. We're both very happy with the new look!
The kitties also really enjoyed soaking up the morning sun.
On our second day we rode our bikes along the Kern River Parkway Trail and headed upstream . . .
. . . where we rode around Ming Lake, back to where we started.
The campground doesn't sell firewood, so we were glad that we had just bought a little propane fire-pit. We were also very happy with our new solar LED tiki torches, firefly lanterns, and string lights. Don't you love how the string lights are reflected in the coach?
The next day we rode our bikes along the Kern River Parkway Trail in the downstream direction, and visited the California Living Museum (CALM).
Over 400 species of animals injured or otherwise unable to survive in their native environment are housed at CALM. Of course, they have mountain lions . . .
. . . and bobcats . . .
. . . and foxes, oh my!
They also had several condors.
We smiled at the fancifully painted trucks by the petting zoo.
