10/14/16, Friday: Anthony, NM to White Sands National Monument to Las Cruces, NM

Today we went out of our way for the sole purpose of sledding at White Sands National Monument. They have (shifting) sand dunes made of gypsum sand, which is firmer and cooler than other types of sand. We had planned on this, and Chris saved a big piece of cardboard for us to use as a sled, rather than paying $5.00 for a sled at the visitor center gift shop. (We didn't retire early without lots of practice at being thrifty!)
